The Carpenter Library is now accepting cans of food in lieu of money for patrons who have accumulated overdue fines on their library items over the past year. One can of food is equivalent to $1.00 in library fines. All canned goods will be delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. The Food Bank needs our help - the need is high and the shelves are bare! This summer is the worst the Food Bank has seen in 28 years.
So please consider donating even if you don't have any Library fines . . .
